Seahorse was painted live during the final of a polo tournament at a country club in the Mexican Caribbean.

Surrounded by galloping horses, the energy of the match and the tropical atmosphere, I imagined the horse leaving the polo field and continuing its movement beneath the sea — completely free.

The painting brings together the movement of the horse and the colors of the Caribbean. Turquoise and intense blues evoke the sea, while vibrant yellows, reds and whites capture the tropical light, energy and contrast of the Mexican Caribbean.

Through spontaneous brushstrokes, abstract splashes and expressive lines, the horse seems to dissolve into the water. Its mane becomes a current and its body moves between figuration and abstraction.

The figure exists somewhere between horse and seahorse, land and ocean, reality and imagination.
