Original Contemporary Figurative Painting by Mexican Artist Paco Rocha
What will the human body become when the boundaries between the organic, the artificial, and our identity begin to disappear?
Anatomía en el Año 3000 imagines the human figure in a future where identity no longer has a fixed form. The body appears fragmented and constantly transforming, as if its anatomy were being reconstructed.
A continuous yellow line travels across the composition like a vital impulse or internal circuit, connecting bodies, fragments, and empty spaces. Human forms begin to merge with abstract and almost synthetic structures.
An intense turquoise field creates an open, luminous atmosphere, while layers of pink, blue, yellow, and expressive oil textures bring depth, movement, and physical presence to the canvas.
Moving between figuration and abstraction, the painting presents the body as an evolving psychological territory—fluid, connected, and impossible to fully define.
Perhaps by the year 3000, our anatomy will no longer end at our skin.
At 130 × 95 cm (51.2 × 37.4 in), the work has a commanding presence and is conceived as a statement piece for a contemporary art collection, modern residence, or curated interior.
