Calavera Abstracta Bauhaus – Original Mexican Abstract Skull Painting

Created after a journey through Germany, Calavera Abstracta Bauhaus emerged from my encounter with the abstraction of Wassily Kandinsky and the visual language of the Bauhaus.

Rather than reproducing these influences, I wanted to bring them into my own world — transforming them through my Mexican identity, intuitive process, and the symbolism of Día de Muertos.

The skull becomes the meeting point between two visual cultures: European abstraction and Mexican tradition. Geometry gives way to instinct; structure collides with spontaneity; color transforms a universal symbol of mortality into something vibrant and alive.

Turquoise, yellow, red, and deep blue move across the composition, allowing the skull to shift between abstraction and recognition.

Calavera Abstracta Bauhaus is ultimately a dialogue between Germany and Mexico, structure and intuition, mortality and life.
