Rostro del Nilo – Original Contemporary Portrait Inspired by Egypt

The first sketch for this painting was created in a small café near the Temple of Luxor, Egypt.

She was the daughter of a French mother and an Egyptian father — a meeting of two worlds in a single face.

When I transformed the sketch into a painting, I wanted the palette to preserve the atmosphere of that moment: the ochres and earthy tones of the desert crossed by the blues and turquoise of the Nile.

Rostro del Nilo is an original contemporary portrait exploring identity, memory, and the subtle connection between a person and the landscape surrounding them.
