The face becomes a psychological landscape.

Lines, fractures, and openings move across the figure like passageways into the psyche—spaces where thoughts, memories, and emotions emerge from beneath the surface.

Material and color become part of this inner exploration. Dense, tactile layers of oil paint create a raw, almost organic skin, while turquoise, pink, and soft pastel tones introduce a lighter, dreamlike atmosphere.

These contrasting elements coexist within the same face: the physical and the psychological, delicacy and rawness, the softness of color and the intensity of texture.

Moving between figuration and abstraction, the portrait fragments and reconstructs itself until it becomes a kind of psychological map.

Agujeros de la Psique is not a portrait of a specific person. It is an inward vision of the mind—a territory made of layers, fractures, connections, and hidden spaces that we can never fully understand.

Perhaps the psyche can never be seen as a whole. We can only glimpse it through its openings.
